Acosta Care is seeking experienced and compassionate Direct Care Professionals to join our team. We provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with the requirements and standards established by the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), Medicaid Waiver programs, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
Our Direct Care Staff play a critical role in supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, community participation, personal growth, and an enhanced quality of life. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, professionalism, dignity, and person-centered services.
Position Responsibilities
Direct Care Staff are responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities and supporting their personal goals in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Supporting community inclusion and participation
Promoting independence and self-advocacy
Assisting with recreational and educational activities
Monitoring the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
Following Individual Support Plans (ISP), Behavior Plans, and company policies
Communicating effectively with supervisors, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams
Ensuring compliance with all APD, Medicaid Waiver, and agency requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of direct care experience required
High School Diploma or GED
Valid identification and authorization to work in the United States
Reliable transportation
Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Level 2 Background Screening
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
Commitment to providing respectful, ethical, and person-centered care
